Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries during the year 1966, after he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that functioned on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" which was used to lower and raise the hoist. This mechanism really impressed lots of clients and therefore, the name was born.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into different new markets, because the demand for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, as the demand for new machines to meet many applications grew, the company made itself recognized in numerous new markets. For example, Genie went into making stick booms, telehandlers, man-lifts, articulated booms and light towers.
Genie decided to secure a partner who had the same values because of the economic recession in the beginning of the 2000s, when they partnered with Terex. This company has a history obtaining equipment manufacturers all over the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Due to the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was only decided after the first few years following the sale. Thus, all Genie equipment continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is dedicated to continually improving efficiency and quality and is also dedicated to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on providing exceptional support. These are the very work disciplines that have made Genie a trusted brand over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line machines.
The DC and Bi-Energy machines provided by Genie offers emission-free, quiet operation even in the most delicate work environments. Where the equipment should be driven significant distances, like in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits of a 48V DC machine together with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach, compared to any of the various aerial platforms. These equipment are great for small areas or limited access areas in all types of settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to provide utmost productivity. These equipment deliver the drive speed and supreme traction you need in order to travel around the work site and job area.
